FAQ about the PermaProfits Affiliate
Marketing Income system
If you dont find the information you need among these
Frequently Asked Questions, I'll try to help personally
if you contact me via the contact link at the very bottom.
Thanks.
Why
are you giving away 100% of your commissions?
The reason is simple... to give you plenty of reasons
to promote our products because every sale you generate
results in three things:
(1) your 100% commission is instant income to you -->
you will want to stay on my mailing list, and
(2) a new person is added to my mailing list so I can
market to them in the future --> possible future
income for me, and
(3) perhaps your customer will also see the huge value
in our one-time offer/upsell. If he/she buys -->
income for me.
This is a win/win/win plan.
The third win? Yes, our customers also win because
I tend to price things on the low side.
PayPal doesnt allow split
commissions so how does your system work?
PermaProfits has recently changed the way we do some
things so the question of split commissions is no longer
relevant.
We now pay 100% commission on front-end products so
you get 100% of every sale. If
it sells for $7, you get the full $7. If it sells for
$19, you get the full $19 directly into your Paypal
account. Minus the tiny PayPal fee in both cases.
NOTE: You must have
a verified Premier or Business account in order
to receive affiliate payments because Personal Paypal
accounts are limited in the amount of funds and types
of payments they can receive. You can open a free PayPal
account here.
Here's what Sid Hale wrote about PayPal and split
commissions. Sid is the programmer behind the Rapid
Action Profits script that powers PermaProfits:
"Direct from the pertinent sction of Paypal's Acceptable
Use Policy... https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/
gen/ua/use/index_frame-outside
Prohibited Activities
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:
3. relate to transactions that (a) show the personal
information of third parties in violation of applicable
law, (b) support pyramid or ponzi schemes, matrix programs,
other "get rich quick" schemes or certain multi-level
marketing programs,
I've bolded the portion that is commonly interpreted
to include 2-tier affiliate programs.
Despite the fact that the Acceptable
Use Policy has been construed by some to include 2-tier
affiliate programs... keep in mind that the RAP product
really doean't pay commissions. The customer pays the
"reseller" directly. Our payment menthod is much more
like a reseller program than an affiliate program.
Split commissions are also cited with regularity as being
against Paypal's TOS, but I have been unable to find specific
reference to anything at all concerning that practice.
I joined Jimmy D. Brown's PLR membership (Profit Vault
Monthly???) in 2002. It was changed to Nicheology when
Ryan Deiss joined Jimmy. I still pay for that service
through Paypal using split payments.
I don't recommend split payments as a way to accept payment
for product just because it's too difficult for the customer
and more likely to cause problems and raise red flags
- but for 5 years I've been paying Jimmy D. Brown making
2 separate payments every single month."
What is a 'one time offer' (OTO)?
After your customer purchases the product you have
told him about, he or she will see another great offer
before reaching the download page. Some call this an
upsell, a back end offer or a one time offer. This will
generally be a related product offered at an attractive
discount but your customer will only see it once (the
software controls this).
What do I need to join?
All you need is a Premier or Business account with
PayPal
- and they are both free.
I don't have a mailing list or a website. Is it worth
joining?
Sure. There are ways to promote even if you dont have
your own siste or subscriber list yet, as detailed on
our "How
to promote" page. Also, some of our ebooks
and reports will show you how to build your own list.
How to get off your mailing list?
It's as easy as falling off a log, as we Aussies say.
It's managed by Aweber
so unsubscribing is as easy as clicking the last link
in any email. So you dont need to worry about your customers
getting stuck on a list they cant get off. It just wont
happen!
How
often are new products released?
The goal is 1-2 new products per week so there are
plenty of opportunities to earn with PermaProfits. And
remember, you're paid instantly into your PayPal account.
Can I cloak my affiliate links?
Sure can. You can use any cloaking service. URLfreeze.com
is one that I like because it provides stats on your
clickthroughs - and it's free.
What is the cost and obligation?
No cost. No obligation. You can earn commissions without
ever purchasing from us.
What sort of a Paypal account do I need?
This is IMPORTANT information
about getting paid:
In order for our system to work flawlessly with your
PayPal account, please check that you have either a
verified Business Account or a verified
Premier Account. (Personal Paypal accounts are limited
in the amount of funds and types of payments they can
receive.)
You can upgrade and verify your PayPal account at no
cost. Login to www.paypal.com and follow the upgrade
links in your Profile.
Why should I register?
After you register as a PermaProfits affiliate,
YOU CAN PROMOTE ALL
OUR PRODUCTS without having to register for each
one individually.
register as an affiliate and choose your own affiliate
nickname
After you register into our system, cookies
will connect your affiliate ID with all the visitors
you send to all the products at our site, even if the
visitors come back later on to purchase.
By registering as an affiliate, you get an affiliate
ID of your own choosing... which means you do not need
to expose your email address in your affiliate links.
Here's how that works: When you sign up as an affiliate,
you get to choose an affiliate nickname (affiliate ID).
Instead of adding your email address at the end of your
affiliate links, you can promote using your affiliate
ID in the links.
For example, if you had registered 'home'
as your affiliate ID (that's what I did), you could
send people to... http://PermaProfits.com/webtv/?e=home
instead of... http://PermaProfits.com/webtv/?e=john@yahoo.com
I forgot my affiliate nickname
No problem. Go to http://permaprofits.com/affiliatetools.php
and the system will remind you.
Reminder: Your affiliate nickname (ID) is the name
you chose when you signed up.
What link
format should I use to promote a particular product?
You have a choice of two styles of affiliate links.
Both work, but one has an added advantage in that it
conceals your Paypal email address so that spam robots
wont find it on the internet and begin bombing you with
tons of unwanted email.
Both styles of links will earn you 100% commissions.
And these are instant payments .
|
Affiliate link format -- the short version!
|
You can use either:
http://PermaProfits.com/xxx/?e=yourPaypalEmail
...where xxx
is the folder (directory) for any product
or this, which is better:
http://PermaProfits.com/xxx/?e=abcd
...where abcd
is the affiliate nickname (affiliate ID) you
specified when you registered
as an affiliate. This is the recommended
format because your email address is concealed
from spam robots.
|
Link option 1:
http://PermaProfits.com/xxx/?e=yourPaypal
...where xxx is the folder
(directory) for a particular product, and yourPaypal
is your PayPal email address.
For example, to promote Instant Web Television
(which is at permaprofits.com/webtv) you would send
your contacts to:
http://permaprofits.com/webtv/?e=yourPaypall
If your Paypal-registered email address is john@yahoo.com,
then your affiliate link to promote this particular
product would be:
http://PermaProfits.com/webtv/?e=john@yahoo.com
Another example. Let's say you want to promote
7 Days To Profitable Blogging. The sales page
is at:
http://permaprofits.com/7dtpb/
Your own unique affiliate link will be: http://permaprofits.com/7dtpb/?e=you@yourpaypalemail.com
Notice how that link is made up:
* Start with the URL of the sales page
* Be sure it ends with a /
* Then add ?e=
* Then add your PayPal-registered email address.
Once you've done that, test your link. How? It's explained
down the page a little bit.
Link option 2: the recommended link format
http://PermaProfits.com/webtv/?e=home
As mentioned above, this sort of link does not
expose your Paypal email address... which is
a good idea unless you like a lot of spam email.
For example, if you had registered your affiliate
ID (affiliate nickname) as 'home', then you could also
send webtv prospects to:
http://permaprofits.com/webtv/?e=home
You can also encrypt either of these links by other
methods if you wish. Test them to be sure your ID is
retained, of course.
To promote other products,
check out the product list at the top right of this
page and replace webtv
with the folder name for the product you're going to
promote. Easy!
How can I test my affiliate links?
1, Copy the whole link into your browser address bar
and hit Enter.
2, Scroll down to the Buy button and click it.
3, When the payment page comes up at Paypal.com, your
name or email will be showing up at the top left of
the screen. That shows you it's working. If not, check
that you've followed these steps correctly.
What about refunds?
Offering a refund is a proven way to increase sales.
That's why we all do it. So you will occasionally get
a request for a refund. It's a pain when that happens,
but it's the way things go so you should expect it.
TIP: What I do is leave sufficient money in
my Paypal account to cover refunds - this saves them
having to charge my credit card for a refund (would
that be treated as a cash advance? I dont know, but
I dont want to risk it).
Being willing to refund is part of what affiliates
agree to when they register so if an affiliate refuses
to provide a refund on request, our software will direct
all future sales through that affiliate ID to PermaProfits.
In order to protect the integrity of our program, PermaProfits
will refund the unhappy buyer.
How to handle refunds:
If/when one of your customers asks for a refund, you
can also get a refund of the Paypal FEES you paid
if you login to Paypal, find the item they're asking
a refund for, click on the Transaction Details link
and then scroll to the very bottom of the page. There
is a link marked 'Issue Refund'. By using it, you will
get a refund on the fees you paid Paypal for receiving
that money.
What
script are you using to run your affiliate program?
PermaProfits is powered by RapidActionProfits. And
there are many reasons why I chose RAP as the affiliate
program management script, including...
- Secure expiring download pages - this protects our
affiliates, ensuring you get paid
- Split testing and conversion tracking
- Option to send mail to customers, affiliates and JV
partners
- Option to reward high performing affiliates with a
higher commission rate
- Option to include one time offers or to limit the
quantity
- Dime sale functionality is one of the planned additions
- Integration with Aweber and PayPal's IPN (optional)
- Option to limit the affiliate program to customers
only, or not
- Tell a friend (optional)
- Please visit Rapid
Action Profits to review the full list of features
& benefits.
Who
owns PermaProfits?
Gary Harvey does. That's him (me!) in the happy snap
-->
I also answer the emails and make the coffee. That's
when I'm not working on my other sites which include
FindHotMarkets.com
and the eProfitNews blog which is about
making money online.
